Ruth became an exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society in the early 1980s. Her teachers in watercolour and oils were Garrett Kingsley and Ron Stannard.
Ruth held her first exhibition at Windsor, New South Wales in 1983, and also exhibited with other female artists in an exhibition entitled ‘Women in the Hawkesbury’. In 1994 she had an exhibition of Mixed Media, watercolours and oils at the Braemar Gallery in Springwood.
Ruth joined the Society of Mountain Artists in 2001, and has since won many awards for her still lifes in watercolour, oils and pastels. She has won ‘Best in Show’ for a watercolour judged by John Wilson, also a First Prize in oils and Second Prize in watercolour judged by Warwick Fuller.
Ruth lives in Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains.
